The first time I tried tempeh nugget was in a seafood restaurant named "Kedai Laut" in Balikpapan. The nuggets are thin, crisp and tasty. But it won't be perfect without its complementary condiment : chili paste. The paste is rich with hint of shrimp paste a.k.a terasi which makes it a bit pungent but savory as well.
In other words, this menu is a must-order whenever I visit this restaurant. Yum.
And this morning, I finally decided to try the recipe. It's quite easy actually; you only need good quality tempeh, garlics, salt, pepper, nutmeg, eggs, and bread crumbs. With the magic of steamer and frying pan, voila! Here's the tempeh nugget made by me :D
Unfortunately, I haven't discovered the right chili paste recipe so I just ate them with bottled chili and tomate sauce. Still delicious nonetheless :D
